The Haunting Of Coupeville Just Might Be The Spookiest Thing To Do In Washington This Month
Coupeville is a historic seaport on Whidbey Island… and for most of the year, it’s anything but creepy. In fact, it’s so charming that the beloved movie Practical Magic was filmed there. But throughout October, you might not be quite as charmed when you visit. The Haunting of Coupeville is a lot of fun, but it’s also a little eerie.

The annual month-long fright fest is meant to be spooky, but not terrifying (although we can never guarantee you won't see a ghost).

The Directional Scarecrows will help ensure you don't miss a thing.

Fort Casey also joins in on the fun.

You can explore Haunted Fort Casey on October 25 and 26, which offers a bounce house and games for the younger goblins. Other activities include walking through the Weary Bones Rest Stop Cemetery, a Great Pumpkin Race, and making spooky graham cracker houses.

You can catch a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts on Halloween. Dressing up is highly encouraged.

There will be a Practical Magic Movie Night on October 25 at Bayleaf, and The Kingfisher Bookstore is hosting three Practical Magic read-alongs this month.

They really know how to celebrate Halloween here.
