This small town with a big heart sits 40 miles south of the Canadian Border in Eastern Washington. The population of 1,600 is known for being friendly (aside from the "one grouch," as the welcome sign states).
The town's name means "meeting place" in Syilx'tsn, a Native American language, and it serves as just that for the town's 2,552 residents.
