As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Just 30 miles east of Washington’s largest city sits a peaceful oasis perched high above one of the most visually stunning waterfalls you’ll ever see. For just over a century, the Salish Lodge & Spa (originally called the Snoqualmie Falls Lodge) has been offering guests an unparalleled experience. Thanks to a recent renovation, this place is more magical than ever — and if you haven’t been, you’re really missing out on something special.
It all started in 1916, when the eight-room Snoqualmie Falls Lodge opened as a rest stop for weary travelers.
In 1988, the building was completely remodeled, and the Salish Lodge was born. And while you may recognize the lodge as the setting for the TV show Twin Peaks, it has so much more to offer than just nostalgia (although you'll experience plenty of that, too).
The property was renovated again in 2018, so the Salish Lodge's rooms and suites are more elegant than ever.
Whether you go for a morning brunch or an evening dinner, you won't be disappointed. The menu can be summed up as Pacific Northwest at its best. Everything is fresh, local, and outstanding. This is the Dungeness Crab Pappardelle, and it tastes even better than it looks.
Recently, The Dining Room added an outdoor seating area to provide a more comfortable dining experience and adhere to capacity restrictions.
It has become such a popular gathering spot, they have no plans to remove it.
For many of us, splurging on a luxury room and a meal sent from the heavens themselves isn't always easy to do. But should you decide to experience Salish Lodge & Spa, don't skip out on the "spa" part of the experience.
There are several short, easy hiking trails nearby should you feel the need to see the falls from a different angle.
The only thing better than the top-notch amenities at Salish Lodge & Spa is the fantastic customer service. Check out the special offers and come see for yourself.
