Having grown up in Washington, Andrea is a self-admitted Pacific Northwest snob. In their opinion, there's simply nowhere else in the country with the Evergreen State's beauty. After attending university, Andrea devoted themselves to writing full-time. They're thrilled to represent Washington for Only In Your State while pursuing other professional and personal projects. They currently reside in Olympia, where they enjoy leaf-blowing their yard, perfecting homemade ramen, cuddling with their three tiny dogs, and feeding their pufferfish, Sea Biscuit.
If you’re looking for a dining experience that’s off the beaten path, check out The Vine in small-town Touchet. This fine-dining establishment is easily one of the best rural restaurants in Washington, offering diners elegant flavors and staggering views of the southeastern landscape. If you fancy yourself a foodie, add this spot to your bucket list!
Located 20 minutes outside Walla Walla, Touchet may seem an unlikely spot for high-end cuisine. Yet, despite having a population under 500, it's still home to one of Washington's best fine-dining restaurants, The Vine. In no small part, this is thanks to Cameo Heights Mansion, a luxurious bed and breakfast that's landed in Trip Advisor's 2023 list of the top 10 percent of hotels worldwide.
The Vine's interior is a masterclass in elegance. Tables are far enough apart to create a sense of intimacy, and guests rave about the top-notch service.
But since we're coming into summer, I think it's worth highlighting the restaurant's outdoor patio. Surrounded by flowers and gorgeous scenic views, this foodie refuge is easily one of Washington's best outdoor dining spots. If you can, I recommend requesting a table outside.
The Vine is considered one of the Tri-City area's best restaurants for a reason. Though they specialize in an indulgent, seven-course menu, diners can also order a la carte. Pair your selection with one of over 160 different wines, mostly sourced locally from Walla Walla's incredible wineries.
The Vine also sourced its head chef, Rich Koby, locally. A Walla Walla native, he's brought incredible talent and energy to the restaurant's kitchen. The menu changes every day, injecting every service with excitement. If fine dining can seem fuddy-duddy, his creativity ensures his dishes are the opposite.
Dinner at The Vine doesn't come cheap, but this cost reflects the quality of the service and cuisine. If you're up for an adventure, splurging on the set menu is the way to go. With Chef Koby at the helm, you're in very good hands.
Are you planning a date night or occasion? Are you simply looking for an excellent meal in an unexpected place? Check out Cameo Heights Mansion's The Vine. This exceptional restaurant is the place to go if you're staying in nearby Walla Walla, and though it isn't cheap, it will be a memory you cherish.
As we head into summer, make your reservations at one of the best rural restaurants in Washington, Touchet’s The Vine. If you’re not from town, the cuisine and views make the journey worth it. Be sure to request a patio table to soak in the stunning landscape.
