There’s nothing like spending time at the beach on a warm summer day. Packing a picnic lunch and heading to one of Washington’s scenic waterways has always been a favorite warm-weather activity in my family. While we’re fortunate to live in a coastal setting with plenty of saltwater shorelines, our inland beaches are also lovely. One example is Lake Sammamish, a freshwater lake with such extraordinary beauty you’d swear you were at the coast. This pristine inland beach in Washington feels miles away, yet it is conveniently located near Seattle and Bellevue.
Lake Sammamish State Park is open year-round from 6:30 a.m. to dusk. As with all state parks in Washington, a Discover Pass is required to visit Lake Sammamish. Purchase a Discover Pass online or at the park’s automated pay station.
Have you visited Lake Sammamish? We would love to hear your thoughts about this pristine Washington beach. Tell us about your experience in the comments.
