But he realized that if he ever sold it, the century-old native forest would likely be cleared away for the views. So he decided to do something more meaningful.

He was inspired to create a sculpture garden here after visiting several himself. And so, Washington's sculpture forest was born.

With over a half-mile of trails, the outdoor gallery features 25 sculptures from artists across the Pacific Northwest and the United States.

Coupeville’s 1.5-mile walking path extends directly from the downtown area to the sculpture forest, so it's easy to find.
