But the truth is, this little city has a unique character that’s entirely separate from the vino. In fact, the oldest indie record store in the state is located downtown, and it’s better than ever.

You'll find Hot Poop -- yes, that is really its name -- on East Main Street in downtown Walla Walla.

The store is turning 48 this year, making it Washington's oldest indie record store, by far.
Founder Jim McGuinn originally opened his business in San Diego before relocating to Walla Walla.

The shop looks a bit chaotic, with music displayed from top to bottom and in every corner.
