Washington is a great state for readers. There are hundreds of book shops here in the Evergreen State, many of which are independently owned. Admittedly, a few of our best indie bookstores require a ferry ride to reach. Moonraker Books is one of them, but it’s well worth it. After all, the journey is as important as the destination, although this destination is pretty fantastic.

Fifty years ago, Josh Hauser opened Moonraker Books in Langley with her husband, Glenn.

They ran the store together until Glenn died in 2008. Josh has ensured that the business is still a family operation.
Half a century may not be a long time in the grand scheme of things, but when you're here, you'll definitely feel nostalgic.
