All of our major cities and plenty of our smaller towns now have these mobile food options, and some of them have some delicious menu items that aren’t easy to find here in the Evergreen State. If you’ve never had Indian fry bread tacos, you’re truly missing out. But don’t worry, Off the Rez is here to help.

Mark's mother grew up on the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana, so he was raised on traditional frybread and Indian tacos.

He and Cecilia successfully opened the Off the Rez food truck. They also have a second location, at the Burke Museum on the University of Washington campus.

The cafe tends to focus on soups, salads, and espresso beverages. When you visit, see if they're serving clam or salmon chowder that day.

The Powwow Burger is served on fry bread, and it's out of this world.

The Navajo invented this frybread in 1844 using the flour, sugar, salt and lard that was given to them by the United States government when the Navajo were forced to make their 300 mile journey to New Mexico. It remains a popular Native staple to this day.

You can also try the BBQ pulled pork tacos, which come topped with honey BBQ sauce and cabbage slaw.

Off the Rez Cafe is open Tuesday - Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. for takeout and limited capacity dine-in.
