NEKO Is A Completely Cat-Themed Catopia Of A Cafe In Washington
A few years ago, Washington welcomed its first cat cafe. And while this adorable trend isn’t as wildly popular in the United States as it is overseas, we’re thrilled to report Washingtonians have several options for enjoying some feline company with their beverage of choice. Seattle’s NEKO is particularly delightful, especially since they serve beer and wine along with their coffee menu.

The founder, Caitlin, fell in love with the concept of cat cafes after she spent some timing living in both Japan and Vietnam, which have an abundance of them.

She brings her love of cats and over a decade of restaurant industry experience to the proverbial table.

And here's what sets this cat cafe apart from the rest: The kitties here have all been diagnosed with FeLV, which stands for Feline Leukemia Virus. While the virus itself is not terminal, it does lower cats' immune systems and can make them more susceptible to disease. So, NEKO helps the cats that need it the most. The team here will have all the information you need about FeLV in case you're considering adopting one.

You'll be asked to pay $11 for a 55-minute session, which goes towards the cats' care. Reservations are highly recommended.

The cafe also sells cat-themed snacks.

You'll also want to show up a few minutes early as they run a tight schedule here and you won't want to miss a moment.

If that's the case, you're in luck - they handle cat adoptions on-site here!

They're open from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday - Thursday, and 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday hours are 9 - 9. And yes, they have merchandise for sale.
Book a session for sips and cat cuddles here. Are you more of a dog person? There’s a place for that too.
