There’s A Monastery Hidden On An Island In Washington And You’ll Want To Visit
You never know what you’ll find hiding in our beautiful state, especially on our quiet and secluded islands. Vashon Island is where you’ll find the All-Merciful Saviour Monastery, which is a perfect spot for this beautiful, peaceful place.

It was established in 1986 by Archimandrite Dmitri (from Santa Rosa, California), moving to Vashon in 1988.

Although it's a mere 20 minutes from Seattle via ferry, it's quiet and secluded here.

They also have free range chickens that produce eggs for the community.

The public is welcome to attend services, but it is asked that people call ahead to let them know.

If you'd like to visit, they ask that you call first (206-463-5918), and that both men and women dress modestly.

You can buy the coffee (and coffee cups) online at vashonmonks.com.
