10 Things Washingtonians Have A Love-Hate Relationship With
There’s a lot to love about Washington. And then there are those things we seem to have a love-hate relationship with… we appreciate them in a way, but sometimes we think we could live without them. For example:

You won’t find a city that gets more complaints from Washingtonians than Seattle. Even many of its residents have their gripes. But even those that couldn’t bear to live there love to visit for Mariners, Seahawks or Sounders games and the abundance of tourist attractions, concerts and festivals it holds. Plus, even if you only see it in pictures, it’s a beautiful area.

Many Washingtonians hate the coffee. Many love it. But if nothing else, it’s consistent, and we can ALWAYS find one.

We love nature here in Washington. A lot. But the fact is, sometimes Mother Nature is a huge jerk.

We love to show our visitors around our beautiful state. And truth be told, we love the revenue. But we don’t always love sharing our space with huge numbers of people. It’s nothing personal.

Sure, it’s our nation’s capital, and it’s beautiful. But it’s also the reason we have to say "state" after "Washington" whenever we’re traveling.

Summers in Washington are amazing. We live for them. At the same time, our popular attractions become too crowded to enjoy and parts of Eastern Washington can feel unbearably hot. And don’t even get us started on construction season.

On that note, we truly appreciate the people who work so hard (and for so many hours) to keep our roads in great condition. But we admit we do not appreciate the travel delays.

It’s one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and catching a concert there is magical. We love the Gorge… until we sit next to a group of drunks at a show, lose all feeling in our legs after sitting on the ground for five straight hours, and promptly lose our cars in the massive parking lots.

We love our sports teams. But now that our Hawks have set the bar high and made it to two Super Bowls in a row, football season can get pretty stressful and intense.

The good people of Forks have managed to make their sharp increase in tourism quite profitable, but we're not sure they're all thrilled by the extra traffic and attention. Seattle remains indifferent to being associated with 50 Shades.
What are some things about Washington you have a love-hate relationship with? One thing is for sure… even though it’s not perfect, Washington is the best state.
