As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Washington’s best wine grapes are grown on the East side, and the Red Mountain area in particular is known for its perfect geology and climate for producing our finest vino. This part of the state has a unique rural beauty that will steal your heart — and while you’re there, there’s no better place to stay than Washington’s own wine-themed hotel. Here’s what you’re missing if you haven’t stayed at The Lodge at Columbia Point.
The Lodge at Columbia Point is located in Richland, right on the beautiful Columbia River.
It's a quick 10-20 minute drive from all of Washington's best wineries and tasting rooms (and the Tri Cities has Uber and Lyft now, so you can leave your car behind).
Step inside and you'll instantly realize that this place is something special.
It looks like a destination resort in the heart of a classic wine destination like Sonoma, but instead, you'll get to enjoy our own up-and-coming wine destination.

Unsurprisingly, the hotel has an extensive local wine list. So when you check in, order a bottle and catch the sunset on the rear patio.
And each one is well-stocked with plenty of wine glasses and a bottle opener so you can enjoy your nightcap (o happy hour) without having the bring your own supplies.
Since a glass of wine and a relaxing bath go hand in hand, you'll be pleased to learn most rooms and suites have oversized soaking tubs...
The spa specializes in custom massages and facials so you can leave with a refreshed glow.
While you'll be within walking distance from some of Richland's best eateries, you'll definitely want to stick around to enjoy a meal (or two at Drumheller’s Food & Drink.
Drumheller’s serves a fantastic variety of fresh, local food, and you may have a difficult time deciding what to get (and you really can't go wrong). If you need a break from wine for some reason, the cocktail list here is divine. You can also enjoy a nightcap downstairs at The Vine Wine & Craft Bar.

Obviously, you'll want to do plenty of local wine tasting when you're in the area... but if you're staying at The Lodge on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, you won't even have to leave the property to taste.
The hotel hosts local wineries on these three evenings, who will be happy to pour you a few free tastes from 5-6:30 p.m.
Other amenities at The Lodge include a beautiful outdoor covered pool and hot tub, a fitness center, and a complimentary breakfast served from 6-10 a.m. on the second floor.
You can even rent complimentary bikes if you're up for biking the outdoor riverfront trail and spending some time by the Columbia.
Address: 530 Columbia Point Drive, Richland, WA, 99352
Rates for this beautiful destination hotel vary, but you can typically find rooms for around $200 and riverfront suites for around $250. Check current specials and promotions here. And while the hotel is hard to leave, make sure you venture out long enough to taste wine on horseback.
