As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Typically, people have two reactions to the idea of “glamping.” Some think it sounds like the best of both worlds (spending time in nature while still sleeping in a real bed), while others might not understand the expense. But spend one weekend glamping at Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes in Friday Harbor and you’ll be sold. There really is something to be said about breathing in fresh air and spending time by the lake and following it all up with a soak in a private hot tub.
You'll find Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes on Roche Harbor Road in Friday Harbor, just a few miles from the downtown area and ferry terminal.
There are traditional campsites and RV sites available as well as a 1978 Airstream for rent.

The canvas cabins and cottages are a step up from traditional camping -- they offer queen or king-sized beds and amenities to make you feel more at home.
The Canvas Cottages (pictured here) even have electricity and running water. Guests can also rent 2-bedroom cabins or spend the night in a lakefront Lodge Room. The Lodge is reserved for guests 16 and over only, but the rest of the property is extremely family-friendly.

But whether you typically prefer to camp in a tent or spend the night in a four star hotel, we highly recommend you rent a yurt at Lakedale at least once in your life.
The Smart TV and electric fireplace will take your glamping to the next level. The space also includes a mini kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and dishes. You'll also find three different styles of wine glasses that serve as a reminder that this is not exactly "roughing it."

The hot tub is kept piping hot, and it's equally inviting on a cool summer night as it is in the colder months. The deck also has a grill and Adirondack chairs.

Vacations at Lakedale are laid back. But if you do feel adventurous, check out their list of activities.
Some activities are only possible in the summer months, while others -- like bike rentals, boat rentals, and fishing -- are available all year. During the summer, you can swim at the lake's swimming beaches, and young glampers can make a tie-dye shirt in the Activities Tent. Nearly everything at Lakedale is included in your rate.
It's never fun to forget something when you're on vacation. Luckily, the General Store is about to open for the season.
The beauty of Lakedale Resort is that it grants you the time to slow down and breathe.
If you’ve been hesitant to travel, Lakedale Resort is the perfect destination. Not only does the team take all the precautions that are currently necessary, like extra cleaning, but thanks to the contact-free check-in process, you won’t have to interact with another person while you’re there. This is one fantastic spot to rest and recharge.
