The Most Delicious Restaurant Is Hiding Inside This Unsuspecting Washington Gas Station
You really never know where you’ll find a tasty hidden gem of a restaurant in Washington. If you happen to be on Bainbridge Island, you’d probably never think to look in the local gas stations. But that’s exactly where you’ll find Jake’s Pickup, a small counter service eatery with fresh, delicious, and mostly organic cuisine. This place has redefined fast food, and it happens to be delicious.

While a gas station might seem like an odd place to open a restaurant, especially one of this caliber, it actually makes sense.

When Jake and his wife, Kristi, moved to Washington, Jake became the Head Chef at The Orcas Hotel and then moved on to Christina’s Food & Wine. Eventually, he and Kristi decided to open their own catering company, and eventually, a restaurant.

When Jake was younger, he took quite a few cross-country road trips. He always noticed that there are no organic fast food restaurants, and getting good food at a gas station is often impossible. He decided to help change that.

The restaurant is typically open from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday.

This is the kind of fast food we can all appreciate.

It isn't uncommon to smell fresh donuts or cinnamon rolls when you walk in.

But don't worry, Jake is still loading up the grab 'n go cooler with all kinds of tasty food (including Jake and Bake cookie dough) to tide you over until the restaurant can open again.
