If you’ve ever had a medical appointment in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood, you’ve probably walked right by the most enormous pizzas in Washington without even knowing it. As the home of four of the county’s top medical care facilities (Harborview Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, Virginia Mason Medical Center, and Swedish Cherry Hill), this neighborhood is known more for hospitals than hot and trendy cuisine.
But First Hill is hiding a true gem, Italian Family Pizza, right on one of its busiest street corners. You won’t believe the size of the pies inside.
Italian Family Pizza is located at 1028 Madison Street, on the corner of Madison and Boren Avenue.
Don't be fooled by this unassuming exterior. There's a lot of deliciousness hiding inside.
While the restaurant itself has been around for quite some time, it wasn't until 2016 that owners Steve and Jennifer Calozzi relocated it to First Hill to escape the development and demolition downtown.
The 23" large, on the other hand, will feed a small army. This might be the only place in town where a family of four can order one pizza and have enough for even the biggest of eaters.
Monday - Thursday hours are 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., on Friday they stay open until 9:30, and they open at 2 p.m. on weekends to start making their massive pizzas.
Have you ever heard of Italian Family Pizza? They don’t deliver, but you can schedule an order for pickup here.
