Admit it. When you tell someone you’re from Washington, the response is usually, "D.C.?". That’s why we always say we’re from Washington, the State.

We might reside in the small town of Walla Walla or Puyallup, but no one outside of Washington has ever heard of those places so we just say we’re from Seattle. It’s easier that way.
