There's No Better Place To Spend Your Summer Than These 7 Hidden Washington Spots In Nature

But while out-of-state tourists flock to our more popular attractions, you can enjoy a more low-key day at one of our state’s many lesser known spots. These are a few of our favorite hidden gems.

Located in the Leavenworth area, this gorgeous lake sits at the end of a 1-mile trail. (The hike is a total of two miles since it's an out-and-back trail.) Despite its name, this lake actually can get crowded on occasion. To enjoy a little solitude, go on a weekday, and go fairly early.

Could you use some serious peace and quiet in your life? While the nearby Chelan stays crowded all summer, this breathtaking destination in the heart of the North Cascades is as quiet as can be.

Located in Stevenson next to the Columbia River, Beacon Rock State Park is loved by locals, but largely untouched by tourists. It's not every day you can hike along rock ledges while overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.

At Moran State Park on Orcas Island, you can camp beside a lake while being surrounded by the waters of Puget Sound. Sign us up.

Eagle Cove is a quiet, sandy oasis on the southern end of San Juan Island. And even though the San Juans are a popular summer destination, this beach stays nice and quiet.
