After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
Washington is home to approximately 157 miles of coastal shoreline, and while that pales in comparison to Alaska, Florida, California, and Hawaii, our beautiful state is home to quite a few coastal gems worthy of exploration — including a few dreamy lighthouses you’re sure to fall in love with. While we love Cape Disappointment’s North Head Lighthouse, today, we’re headed to the tallest lighthouse in Washington.
Admission to the Grays Harbor Lighthouse is just $5 for all climbers. Active duty members and retirees of the United States Coast Guard receive free admission and United States military members of all branches, active or retired, receive admission for just $4. The lighthouse is open Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in September, Thursday through Monday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in October and from February through May 31, and daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June through August. The lighthouse is open by appointment only in November and closed in December and January. For more information, click here.
