Explore Washington's Quiet Coastline At This Underrated State Park
Washington’s state parks are one of a kind. Each year, they’re visited by a whopping 40 million people who come to enjoy hiking, camping, beach combing, and other outdoor activities.
The Evergreen State has 124 state parks, so the odds are good that you live close to a few. However, some of our quiet coastal parks tend to be a bit overlooked, even if they are in our tourist destinations. In spite of it not being a very “hidden” gem, Twin Harbors State Park is an underrated treasure.

This 172-acre camping park sits on the Pacific Coast, just a few miles south of the popular Westhaven State Park in Westport.

You'll get the best of both worlds here.

Visiting this place will remind you of how lucky we are to live in a state that borders the ocean.

You'll see a lot of kite-flying here on windy days (which happen pretty often on the coast). In the winter, this is the perfect place for storm-watching, especially when you can spot lightning off the coast.

Reservations can be made online up to nine months in advance.

Each yurt is furnished with bunk beds that sleep three, a queen-size futon, floor lamp, small end table and heater. Bathrooms and showers are nearby. Note that you'll have to bring your own bed linens and blankets.
