Explore Two Breathtaking Backcountry Lakes On This Exhilarating Washington Hike
With Washingtonians being encouraged to explore our own backyards this year, it comes as no surprise that local hikers have been discovering new nature trails and checking bucket list hikes off their lists left and right. If you’ve hit a trail or two this summer and you’re up for a challenge before the season ends, check out the enchanting Anderson Lake and Watson Lake Trail. As the name implies, you’ll see two gorgeous backcountry lakes on your journey.

The trail is just under six miles in length, but it might feel like more. This is a relatively challenging trek, and if you're a hiking novice, you might want to get a bit more experience under your belt before you attempt it. That being said, it's also a feasible hike for families with older children.

From hemlock forest to mountain views and meadows, you'll have a lot to look at before you even reach the lakes.

This spot is quiet, clean, and downright tranquil.

Some hikers have called this their favorite place in Washington, and it's easy to see why.

If it's berry season, feel free to pick yourself a snack.

Imagine waking up to two perfect lakes and Mount Baker looming in the distance.
You’ll need a Northwest Forest Pass for this hike, as well as a fully charged smartphone for all the amazing photos you’ll take along the way.
