Having grown up in Washington, Andrea is a self-admitted Pacific Northwest snob. In their opinion, there's simply nowhere else in the country with the Evergreen State's beauty. After attending university, Andrea devoted themselves to writing full-time. They're thrilled to represent Washington for Only In Your State while pursuing other professional and personal projects. They currently reside in Olympia, where they enjoy leaf-blowing their yard, perfecting homemade ramen, cuddling with their three tiny dogs, and feeding their pufferfish, Sea Biscuit.
Are you looking for brunch in Spokane? Look no further than House of Brunch. Located just a couple blocks from Riverfront Park, this chic spot gives breakfast food the upscale flair it deserves. And did I mention there are bottomless mimosas?
Since it debuted last year in March, House of Brunch has become the newest place of pilgrimage in Spokane's breakfast scene. Owner Jackson Connery had visions of sophisticated cuisine in a casual environment, a niche he figured he could fill with business partner Brad Duffy. Both men have a lifetime of experience in hospitality under their belt, and it shows in the considered approach House of Brunch takes to its food and its diners' experience.
House of Brunch's interior is light, airy, and festooned with chic touches. It's an ambiance that allows the menu to shine. In a dining room that sticks mostly to neutrals and various shades of white, what's on your plate does the heavy lifting of providing the space with color.
And what color! One of House of Brunch's innovations is bubble waffles. The kitchen puts its spin on this Hong Kong confection, offering both sweet and savory renditions.
They've also integrated seafood into their menu. You might be surprised to see caviar on a brunch menu, but you'll see the wisdom after ordering the caviar and eggs.
If you're an adventurous eater, I highly recommend ordering the "chef's tasting." For $30, diners give the reins to the kitchen, which can steer them toward dishes they might not otherwise consider. It's a great way to try new things and understand the vision behind the delicious food at House of Brunch.
And don't forget about cocktails! For better and for worse, booze is a fixture of upscale brunch fare. At House of Brunch, it's for the better. There's a range of imaginative drinks here, but don't underestimate a classic— mimosas— which come bottomless.
Are you looking for the best brunch in Spokane? Try House of Brunch, a purveyor of breakfast that makes the first meal of the day an occasion. In a city teeming with excellent restaurants, there’s a reason it’s now heralded as one of Lilac City’s best brunch spots.
