True Washingtonians know the meaning of “the mountain is out.” Mount Rainer is a majestic peak towering over the Evergreen State, and when it’s “out,” there’s nothing more beautiful. That being said, if you get the opportunity to get up close and personal with our state’s most beautiful peak, it’s nothing short of a spiritual experience. We know a place that allows you to do just that. Pack a backpack and get ready to take an easy loop trail where you’ll truly feel like you’ve entered another world.
Embark on an alpine adventure on this 3.5-mile loop inside Mount Rainier National Park.
Visitors must have a permit to enter Mount Rainier National Park and always follow the rule to leave no trace behind. In other words, if you pack it in, please pack it back out.
Generally considered an easy to moderate trek, visitors should be prepared for changing weather conditions.
Abundant wildflowers are best viewed during July and August when the trail comes alive with colorful blooms. A rainbow of lupine, magenta paintbrush, glacier lily, and alpine aster blanket the meadows providing breathtaking photo opportunities.
As with any mountainous hike, roads leading to the trailhead are subject to seasonal closures.
Spectacular panoramic views and a relatively easy hike make this the perfect day trip for all ages. However, as parts of the trail are on National Forest land, your furry friends will have to stay home.
Enter a world of breathtaking beauty on the easy-to-navigate Naches Peak Loop Trail. It’s easily one of the most beautiful hikes in our state, and if you’ve visited Naches Peak, we’d love to hear about it. Tell us about your experience in the comments.
