There’s no denying that traveling looks a bit different this year. Luckily, we live in the most beautiful state in the country, which is filled with diverse landscapes, abundant natural wonders… and some seriously incredible donuts. So why not plan a road trip based on the world’s best breakfast food (and all-day snack)?
We put together a sample itinerary any donut lover will appreciate, and it’s just a small collection of the many, many fine donut shops you’ll find here in the Evergreen State (because if we included them all, you might end up in the hospital). Feel free to enjoy this donut trail or create your own in the part of Washington you call home.
Start your adventure at Tacoma's Legendary Donuts, a place that is very appropriately named. These donuts are handmade fresh daily, giving them a flavor that has earned this spot its outstanding reputation.
It's impossible to have a bad day when you sink your teeth into one of these tasty treats. Good Day Donuts is a small neighborhood donut shop, and it's an underrated treasure.
Seattle is home to dozens of scrumptious donut shops, but Top Pot is always a top contender for the best in the city. And while there are many locations, the Alki shop is located steps away from Alki Beach, which is a perfect place to savor your donut of choice.
Henry's Donuts has several locations on the north end, but the Everett shop will be the easiest to reach on this route. These freshly made donuts are downright addictive.
For over 30 years, Westernco Donut has been supplying the Eastside with old-fashioned donuts. They prefer to keep the donut-making process and the flavors simple here... and somehow, that makes it even more appealing.
It's easy to miss this tiny little donut shop in Puyallup. But once you try one of these creative concoctions, you'll realize that very good things come in small packages.
