We’re incredibly lucky to live in a coastal state where the ocean is, at most, a few hours away. That being said, Washington is also home to some seriously stunning lakes that will rival any day at the beach. Lake Wenatchee is gorgeous in any season, but this area really comes alive in the summertime. And it’s practically impossible to have a bad day when you’re surrounded by so much beauty.

Lake Wenatchee is located on the eastern flank of the central Cascades, just outside of Leavenworth off of Highway 2.

The lake spans 2,480 acres and is five miles long.
Lake Wenatchee has a backdrop of breathtaking mountains, making it seem like you're protected from the outside world.

Since the lake is glacier-fed, it stays pretty cold, but that doesn't stop people from swimming in its crystal blue water all summer long.
