There are several explanations for the origin of this rather unusual name. Some say Toe Jam Road is named for an early settler by the name of Torjam. Others insist it was named for stumbling drunkards. In any case, this is one road name your won't forget.
You would think that a street with such a charming name would be in the scenic, pastoral countryside, but Baby Doll Road in Port Orchard is not unlike many other rural roads, with one exception. You might recognize the name Sleater-Kinney as the band name of indie-rock "riot grrrls", Corin Tucker, Carrie Brownstein (of "Portlandia" fame), and Janet Weiss. The band was formed in Olympia, Washington, and took inspiration for its name from Sleater-Kinney Road.

Orange Place is nestled in the charming Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle. It's not actually orange, and we couldn't find any other color-themed street names in the area, (or fruit-themed, for that matter) but Orange Place just has a sunny and warm sound to it.
It's not as sad as it sounds. Useless Bay, in Island County, was named for its frequent inclement weather.
