Writer some days, editor other days, nerd all days. Love to travel to lesser-known spots and give them the love they deserve. Independently owned motor inns, Mom and Pop restaurants, uncrowded National Parks and trails.
In between these, spend my free time virtually adventuring through point-and-click games. Native New Yorker but can frequently be found roaming other parts of the United States.
There is nothing like a paved rail trail to really make you forget how far you are actually walking (until you have to turn around!). What makes great rail trails in Washington even better? If they run through an area where there are other things to do. If you head out on the Snohomish Centennial Rail Trail, you can do just that in the city of Arlington.
The Snohomish County Centennial Rail Trail runs 30 miles, connecting Snohomish County to Skagit County. Its paved surface is a popular spot for biking and walking.
Not only can you connect to other trails from here, but along the way, you’ll be able to take in an assortment of scenery, from creeks and rivers to farmland and forest.
Within its 9.81 square miles, Arlington has 17 city-maintained parks to choose from that cover more than 257 acres as well as many other outdoor spots that are well worth a visit. So now that you’re here….
Here, you can take a guided 40-minute tour of the land. Aside from kangaroos, of course, you will also be able to see a ton of other animals, like llamas, wallabies, lemurs, peacocks, emus, and much more! Learn more about the Outback Kangaroo Farm.
Or how about the Arlington Lavender Farm on Tveit Road?
