There are more than 100 known waterfalls in Washington, and the vast majority of them should be enjoyed safely from afar. However, if you’re lucky enough to find a waterfall swimming hole, it can quickly become one of your favorite summer spots. This summer, take a day trip to the underrated Moulton Falls and go for a refreshing dip at the base of its smooth cascade. Just remember to respect the property and leave it better than you found it. Your fellow Washingtonians will thank you.

Moulton Falls Park is located in Clark County, about 30 miles northeast of Vancouver near the small town of Yacolt.

The park sits at the confluence of the East Fork of the Lewis River and Big Tree Creek,
There are actually two waterfalls located in the park, along with several fantastic swimming spots.

Cliff jumping is very dangerous, and you should only attempt it if you know the water is deep enough and you're an experienced swimmer. You can also enjoy a refreshing swim without entering the water this way.
Speaking of dangerous, if you have little ones with you, watch them closely.

This is generally considered a safe spot for swimming, but there are no lifeguards on duty, and everyone swims at their own risk. Also, jumping off the high bridge is strictly prohibited.
That being said, when appropriate safety precautions are taken, Moulton Falls is an absolute dream.
