We’re so lucky to live in a coastal state. Our ocean beaches may not be warm, but they’re absolutely beautiful. However, for most Washingtonians, they aren’t exactly easily accessible. Here are a few beaches that are a bit more inland, but just as fun as a day at the ocean — and you might even be able to make it home in time for dinner.
Madison Park Beach sits on the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle's quiet Madison Park neighborhood, not far from the Washington Park Arboretum. In the summer, lifeguards oversee a roped-off swim zone, while sunbathers enjoy the shores.

This pristine public recreation area spans 139 acres on the southwest shore of Lake Chelan. This is a camping park, but it's also a place to enjoy the long, sandy stretch of beach.
