Washington summers are amazing. Unfortunately, they also fly by in the blink of an eye. Luckily, our beaches aren’t going anywhere, and neither of our charming little beach towns. If this bizarre year has robbed you of the beachfront vacation (and dining) you look forward to all summer, set aside a weekend for this little foodie-friendly road trip. These oceanside restaurants serve delicious food right by the beach.
Start your day in Ocean Shores and stop by this delightful bakery. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, this beloved local treasure serves freshly baked pastries, frittatas, quiche, French toast, perfect coffee, and so much more. Grab a cup of coffee and a sticky pastry and enjoy them on a beach walk.
Next, head slightly south to Westport and enjoy lunch at the Blue Buoy. This charming seaside spot serves breakfast and lunch daily, focusing (obviously) on seafood favorites. Before you order, make sure you ask about the daily specials — they're always outstanding (and fresh).
Your final stop of the day is the world-famous Long Beach, where you can enjoy dinner with a wonderful beach view at Pickled Fish. This is the restaurant at the Adrift Hotel, and it's outstanding. The Dungeness Crab Cakes, Hand-cut Pappardelle, and tasty pizzas are popular menu items — but you really can't go wrong here. Best of all, when you're full, you can reserve a room and spend the night.
The next morning, stick around Long Beach for a while and treat yourself to breakfast at Benson's by the Beach. They open at 7:30 a.m. daily, and their hearty breakfasts can't be beat.
A relaxing road trip is just what every Washingotian needs right now, especially a food-themed trip by the sea. If you need a little route guidance or inspiration, check out these coastal spots.
