This BBQ Hotspot In Washington Has Been Serving Up Some Of The Best Smoked Meats Since 1972
Living in Washington means having access to the best seafood, authentic Mexican cuisine, fresh farm-to-table goodness, and so much more. And while the Evergreen State isn’t exactly a BBQ hot spot, there are still plenty of tasty places to go when only brisket or ribs will do.
BBQ Pete’s has been a bit of an unsung hero since 1972, and they’ve only gotten better—and more locally loved—over time.

The main location is now in Kent (pictured here), with a second in Lakewood.

Pete's son, Ryan, worked at The Keg in Federal Way and at both Ivar's and Anthony's before taking over at Pete's. He also ventured through the American Barbecue Belt, attending competitions and connecting with some excellent pit masters and restaurateurs.

Pete's is well-known for friendly service and clean, comfortable dining areas.

The meats are smoked "low and slow" using the original family recipes.

From the BBQ sandwiches to the hearty dinner plates, this place does everything right.

The family just wants to make sure everyone gets what they want. They even serve complimentary ice cream!

If you're planning on doing the Puyallup this year, allow yourself to be tempted by their savory scents.
