Enjoy A Unique Glassblowing Experience At Art By Fire In Washington
Washingtonians know a thing or two about the art of glass blowing. After all, famous glass sculptor Dale Chihuly was born and raised here (and we’ve got the glass museum to show for it). But did you know there are several places in the Evergreen State where you can learn the art of glass blowing yourself? We’re particularly fond of Art by Fire, where you can start learning skills as young as five. Grown-ups are, of course, welcomed and encouraged to participate as well.

This charming shop has been a local favorite since 1997.

Art and Sharon gave each other glass blowing lessons as a gift one year for their anniversary, and they ended up loving it. The rest is history.

You can sign up for private classes or take them with a group. Beginner Glassblowing, which meets weekly for six weeks for four hours at a time, is a popular choice for those who want to learn a lot fairly quickly.

These are obviously specialty lessons and are only offered once a year.

Little ones as young as five years old can participate in the Glassblowing Mini classes, a 15-30 minute course that meets one-on-one with an instructor.

But whether or not you're interested in glass blowing yourself, you should definitely come check out the marvelous creations here.
