Having grown up in Washington, Andrea is a self-admitted Pacific Northwest snob. In their opinion, there's simply nowhere else in the country with the Evergreen State's beauty. After attending university, Andrea devoted themselves to writing full-time. They're thrilled to represent Washington for Only In Your State while pursuing other professional and personal projects. They currently reside in Olympia, where they enjoy leaf-blowing their yard, perfecting homemade ramen, cuddling with their three tiny dogs, and feeding their pufferfish, Sea Biscuit.
Plan your trip, or book a local rental. It will take you a couple of days to see everything in this multi-story antique haven.
Located just 45 minutes from Seattle, Snohomish is a gorgeous riverfront town with a delightfully preserved historic district. Along 1st Street, you'll find all sorts of intriguing shops and habit-forming food, but you'll find Star Center Antique Mall off Union and 2nd.
This vast antique store sits in a beautiful 1928 building. In a small town known for its seemingly endless antiquing options, Star Center Antique Mall has the distinction of being Snohomish's first second-hand shop.
Since it opened in 1982, Star Center has filled out its four floors with over 200 dealers, each specializing in different styles and types of merchandise. There's no way you won't find something that suits your exact taste and price point here.
Since it is so large, I recommend grabbing a bite to eat beforehand and fueling up at one of the many delicious coffee shops nearby. You'll need your energy to peruse this maze of unique finds.
If you'd like to make an offer on one of the many items you see, ask one of the clerks whether that particular dealer is willing to negotiate the price. Although nothing here is ever unreasonably expensive, getting a good deal is part of the fun of antiquing.
And another tip: take a picture of the stall number and whatever strikes your fancy. While it doesn't happen all the time, you may find a similar piece further on that's in better condition or at a better price.
With new treasures put out almost daily, there's always something wonderful and new to discover at Star Center Antique Mall. Well, maybe new isn't quite right, but certainly new to you!
In a state overrun with fantastic second-hand shops, look no further than Star Center Antique Mall for the best antique shopping in Washington. Snohomish remains one of our state’s most charming small towns, glittering with delightful shops and memorable dining. It’s also got antiquing down to a science, and Star Center Antique Mall leads the way, striking the right balance between quality treasures and prices that leave customers feeling victorious.
