Mountain lovers and adventurers of all kinds head to southwestern Virginia’s Grayson Highlands State Park to admire these pristine mountain views. The park offers no shortage of unique trails, and at the top of the list is Wilburn Ridge. This out-and-back trail is relatively easy and suitable for the littles ones, too. It's also worth noting that the weather conditions can change rapidly as you reach the top of the trail. In fact, snow is possible on the trail from September through May.
At last, you'll have reached the top of Wilburn Ridge, which some argue has the best lookout point in the park: a panoramic mountain view as far as the eye can see.

Of course, if you're up for more hiking, you can continue on to Mount Rogers, the tallest peak in Virginia. The top of Mount Rogers is actually covered in a high-altitude southern spruce forest, so the views aren't as dramatic.
