Few things can replace that feeling. But thanks to some amazing resorts, bed and breakfasts, and parks around the state — you can relive your treehouse memories. From proper “grown-up” treehouses to playground hideaways, the following sites are well worth a visit.
Far from primitive, the treehouses at Primland Resort (there are 3 in total) redefine luxury with king beds, soaking tubs, and panoramic views. It's a long way from Swiss Family Robinson, but so very worth it.

Basically, these are the ultimate treehouse forts for grown ups.
Think zen, think peaceful seclusion, think ultimate relaxation. The Whitle Lotus Bird's Nest and Skywalk takes all three and wraps them into a perfectly appointed treehouse located on 21-acres of retreat grounds. The only thing you won't love about this place is leaving.

THIS is what childhood dreams were made of. The Sanctuary Tree House at Country Place Cabins stands 20 feet above the Shenandoah River and features a screened in porch and a full-sized bed, skylight, and upper deck. The only problem is that you're going to be tempted to put up a "Clubhouse" sign and move in just like the good ol' days.
5. The Children's Garden Treehouse at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, Richmond
As if the lakeside setting wasn't already idyllic, this treehouse is a haven for kids -- ALL kids. Its special design makes it accessible for people with limited mobility, ensuring that the magic and make-believe sure to happen in this beautiful space is available to everyone.
I realize this isn't a full-on tree house -- perhaps it's even just more of an elegant deer stand. (Is that an oxymoron?) But, with its location at the Silverbrook Farms B & B, it was just too quaint to pass up. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the farm is picturesque already, but a glass of wine on a beautiful night perched on this sweet little tree house? I might never come down.

Nothing could be more at home at Claudia's Garden than this little fairytale cottage on stilts. Everything about it fits into the garden center's eclectic, rustic feel. Tucked amongst the gardens and grounds, this treehouse looks like the perfect place to hide away.
