Winters in Virginia are a bit of a mixed bag. Sometimes, we’re inundated with freezing temperatures, and other years, the season is downright mild. According to the Farmers’ Almanac upcoming 2023-2024 winter predictions, it’s looking like Virginia will see its fair share of bone-chilling weather. And, along with dampness, the potential for precipitation as well. Here’s more about the damp and cold upcoming winter that we’re likely to face here in Virginia. And, given our relatively uneventful winter last year, the predictions are a bit surprising.

What can we expect from this upcoming winter season? According to the Farmers' Almanac, plenty of cold weather all across the board.

And, it'll likely start a bit earlier than normal. While the official start to winter is December 21st, cold temperatures will be arriving in Virginia closer to the meteorological winter on December 1st.

The extended forecast, which is put together based on a mathematical and astronomical formula, predicts plenty of snow and winter weather throughout New England and the Ohio Valley.
