Fall in Virginia just wouldn’t be the same without the spectacular array of colors which seem to consume the trees. This season, you can plan to enjoy the best of our state’s foliage by planning a hike through Shenandoah National Park. The Stony Man Mountain trail offers not only the opportunity to hike under the foliage, but also a breathtaking overlook where you can see thousands of trees in all of their fall glory.
Wondering about the best dates to go? Based on this handy fall foliage map, we predict that October 15th – 22nd will be optimum foliage time.
Stony Man Mountain Trail is located in Shenandoah Park, along Skyline Drive mile marker 41.7 near Luray, Virginia. For more information about the trail, you can click here. What are some of your favorite fall trails in Virginia? Share with us in the comments below!
