Spend enough time in Virginia, and you’re bound to hear of a few hair-raising ghost tales. Whether these troubling stories are purely legend or based in truth, the result is nevertheless startling. One such place in Virginia is notoriously haunted, and it’s known as Crawford Bridge. As though possessed by otherworldly beings, this bridge has captured the imagination of even the most skeptical.
Here’s more on the haunted Crawford Bridge of Yorktown, Virginia:
Most everyone who lives in the proximity of Crawford Road knows either to avoid it completely or be wary of its paranormal activity, evidence of which dates back centuries.
The young bride, frenzied by a marriage she didn't want, hung herself from the bridge while still wearing her gown. Legend has it that visitors approaching the bridge at night can still see the ghostly imagine of the young bride under the bridge.
It isn't certain where the nickname of "Crybaby Bridge" originated, yet it most likely has to do with the disembodied voices that many have reported hearing under the bridge. Whispers, cries, and screams are known to originate out of thin air and can be incredibly disturbing.
Even driving under the overpass could result in a haunted encounter. Many drivers have reported their car stalling under the bridge, or even a CD mysteriously skipping as they drive through.
Whether or not the stories behind Crawford Road are haunted legends or based in truth, there's an undeniable fact that the road has seen a great deal of tragedies, murders, and other unexplained phenomena. One thing's for sure: this is a road that may be best to avoid altogether! Should you decide to visit, be sure to exercise extreme caution and do not loiter after dark.
