There are few activities more peaceful than searching for seashells on an uncrowded beach. Luckily for us here in Virginia, we have plenty of coastlines to go around. If you’re willing to drive a bit further and venture to the very tip of Virginia’s border, Sandbridge Beach, you’ll not only enjoy relative privacy, but also the prospect of shells. Unlike Virginia Beach, Sandbridge remains less crowded, even throughout the summer. Ready to explore Virginia’s hidden coast?
Welcome to Sandbridge Beach! Located at the very southern end of Virginia Beach, this particular stretch of coastline is one of the most beautiful in the state.
If you're lucky, you might even find a rare Scotch Bonnet! While collecting shells can be fun, you might consider simply leaving the shells be so that others may appreciate them too. And most importantly, always check to make sure the shell is vacant!
No matter your reason for venturing to Sandbridge Beach, you'll find an extraordinary sense of peace, tranquility, and connection to the natural world when you spend time here.
Have you ever visited Sandbridge Beach in Virginia? What was your favorite part of being there? We’d love to hear from you – be sure to leave us a comment!
