Red Truck Bakery has made quite a name for itself over the past few years. Starting as a one-man operation, the business has since expanded to an impressive scale. Yet walking into either of the two Northern Virginia locations of Red Truck Bakery, you’ll still get the sense that you’re part of the local community. The Warrenton location, for example, is a renovated 1921 Esso Gas Station loaded with charm and history. But don’t worry, you won’t detect any scent of gasolene here, just freshly-baked pies, cakes, jams, and other treats. Here’s more on the tiny bakery with what many consider to be the best pie in the state of Virginia.
The year was 2009. Red Truck Bakery opened its storefront in a renovated historic building, where it crafted delicious baked goods.
The name "Red Truck" was inspired by the owner and lead chef, who moved to the area and explored the nearby farms in his iconic red 1954 Ford farm truck.
It wasn't long before the popularity of the pies and other specialty goods took off. Red Truck Bakery moved its headquarters to Marshall, Virginia, and decided to keep the original location as a smaller cafe.
Over the past decade, Red Truck Bakery has been recognized by national publications including Conde Nast Traveler, The Daily Meal, and Travel + Leisure.
Pie flavors include, but certainly aren't limited to, classic apple pie, blueberry, blackberry, strawberry-rhubarb, lemon chess, minced meat, sweet potato and bourbon, and more.
The pie and cake recipes have been such a hit, in fact, that the bakery released its very own cookbook so you can attempt to make these treats at home.
