Please note: Tours are over for the 2018 season and will resume in May of 2019. For more information, click here.
Welcome to Project Perry, the Central Virginia Parrot Sanctuary located in Louisa.
There are several separate sanctuaries on the property, each designated for the specific needs of each group. The main aviary is known as the Grey Aviary, which houses 34-45 African Grey Parrots.
Visitors are invited to learn about the parrots and the important rehabilitation process while keeping in mind that the sanctuary is worlds different from a zoo.
Seeing as the residents of the sanctuary are here due to failures of the pet trade industry, it's important to understand that you're on their turf when you step inside the aviary.
That being said, you'll find the chance to observe these beautiful creatures up close and personal to be an unforgettable experience. If you're considering adopting a parrot as a pet, this is the perfect place to learn important information about their care.
Visitors can sign up for a designated visit time and make a donation of $20 that will go towards the upkeep of the facility. For important information about your visit, click here.
