There’s nothing quite like fresh mountain air and a soaking tub to melt your stresses away. You’ll find plenty of both at Pembroke Springs, a cozy country bed & breakfast in Virginia featuring two Japanese-style baths. The tranquil yet modest setting proves to be the perfect escape and a place where the healing elements of nature are never far away. This locally-run inn is not a spa, but you’re bound to feel rested and pampered upon leaving.
Tucked away in the small town of Star Tannery, just near the West Virginia border, awaits a retreat that promises to take you worlds away from it all.
The bed and breakfast is made up of five beautifully-decorated guest rooms with private bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, and endless acres to explore outside.
Due to COVID-19, the retreat now serves as a private getaway that single groups can rent as a vacation rental. Learn more by visiting the website.

Perhaps the most unique amenity of all is the Japanese Bathhouse. Guests can choose from two private baths, each offering a unique way to melt your stresses away.
Guests will be offered Japanese-style robes as they immerse themselves in the beloved practice of the bath.
Just outside the doorstep of the retreat await miles of hiking trails to be explored. There's also a fishing pond and tennis court on the property, but guests will be required to bring their own equipment.
Breakfasts and meals are offered only as part of the bed & breakfast. Currently, the retreat is being used as a rental home, and guests are asked to bring their own food. However, there will be a restaurant-quality kitchen at your disposal.
So the next time you're looking to unwind from the stresses of everyday living, you can escape to this beautiful corner of the Shenandoah Valley and feel completely rejuvenated.
