There’s something positively alluring about the sea. Here in Virginia, we’re lucky to have countless ways of enjoying its beauty. Today’s feature destination is perhaps one of the most unique. The Ocean View Fishing pier in Norfolk isn’t just the longest pier in Virginia; it’s actually the longest fishing pier in North America. As you can imagine, the view of the water and the experience of being on this pier are both positively unforgettable.
Looking for a one-of-a-kind day trip? We suggest heading to the Ocean View Fishing Pier, the longest free-standing pier in all of North America.
Measuring nearly 1,700 feet long, this pier seems to stretch infinitely into the water. Whether you're going for a fishing trip or simply taking a stroll, the view is one you'll cherish.
The pier, which is situated between the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, was constructed relatively recently in 2003 after Hurricane Isabel destroyed Harrison's Fishing Pier.
