It’s hard to imagine what Virginia would be like without its miles and miles of coastline. Proximity to the ocean is what gives our state so much beauty and appeal, whether you’re a resident or visiting from out of state. Visting Virginia Beach means you’ll have access to literally hundreds of beachfront attractions. In fact, there are so many choices that the options can seem overwhelming at times. Today, we’d like to focus on one that’s certainly popular but worth the hype. Neptune’s Park, featuring a giant bronze statue of King Neptune, is a fascinating place to visit. Just be sure to bring your camera! Here’s more on this beachfront attraction you’ll want to visit time and time again.
Walking down the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, it's nearly impossible to miss the King Neptune Statue. It stands at 34 feet tall and weighs 12 tons.
You may recognize DiPasquale's work if you've seen the Arthur Ashe statue on Monument Avenue in Richmond. Another artist by the name of Zhang Cong cast the work in bronze using traditional Chinese methods. As you can imagine, the process of putting together such an elaborate piece took years.
