Kiptopeke State Park is one of the hidden gems of Virginia’s state park system. Tucked away on the beautiful Eastern Shore, this gorgeous natural area boasts a mile-long stretch of shoreline and access to the Chesapeake Bay. Better yet, you could spend an entire weekend here by taking advantage of the park’s camping facilities. You’ll set up your tent just a few steps from the shore and will feel at one with this stunning coastal landscape.
With a gorgeous view of the Bay and a seemingly endless horizon, Kiptopeke State Park is one of the most naturally stunning of its kind.
Reaching the shoreline, you'll notice the unique concrete fleet in the distance. These are 9 of the remaining concrete fleets commissioned during WWII.
Perhaps the best way to experience Kiptopeke is by camping for a night or two. The park offers both tent and RV facilities for those looking for an escape into nature.
Kiptopeke State Park is located at 3540 Kiptopeke Dr, Cape Charles, VA 23310. For more information, including directions and campsite reservations, you can visit the official website here or check out this list for amazing camping experience ever!
