Few people realize there’s a little slice of Italy tucked away right here in Virginia. Simply head to the appropriately-named Italian Store in Arlington and you might feel as though you’ve arrived in Europe. Step inside and you’ll find a little bit of everything: Italian subs, specialty products, gifts, accessories, and, of course, loads of authentic Italian desserts. So whether it’s a quick lunch or a unique day trip destination you’re after, you’ll be charmed by this amazing little Italian shop.
The Italian Store isn't so much a restaurant but an all-purpose food store, with a range of offerings. All under one roof, you'll find made-to-order Italian subs, products that are made in Italy, and the ambiance of a European marketplace.
Be sure to arrive with an appetite, as you'll certainly want to sample one of their authentic Italian subs. There are plenty of styles on the menu, but word on the street is that the roast beef is the local favorite. You might have to take a number and wait, but trust us, it'll be well worth it!
Browsing the store, you'll find all sorts of goodies you've likely never heard of. Some of these products range from homemade ravioli to specialty sauces and cheeses.
There isn't a ton of room for seating, so you'll want to be sure to place your order to-go. And don't forget to order a sampling of the homemade Italian cookies and cannoli.
You'll quickly discover why this beloved family-run Italian store has been attracting visitors from all over since it opened in 1980s. You'll really just have to see it for yourself!
The Italian Store is located at 3123 Lee Hwy, Lyon Village Center, Arlington, VA 22201. For more information, be sure to visit their official website here. Have you stopped by this lovely store before? We’d love to hear what you thought!
