Should you be brave enough to venture to a house or building rumored to be haunted…well, the results are on your head, so to speak. After all, you sought it out, made the effort to go, and actually walked in. You kind of know what you’re in for, right? But when the road that takes you where you need to go is haunted…well that’s another story. We’ve looked around and here are a few places we’ve found that you might just want to avoid, or save for an especially dark night. Here are the 8 most haunted streets in Virginia.

Virginia is loaded with history and, as you may have guessed from reading the above legends, plenty of haunted places. Some of Virginia's most historic places are also the most haunted. That's certainly the case of the Exchange Hotel in Gordonsville, Virginia. The Hotel was constructed in 1860 as a place of rest for those traveling on the nearby railroad. However, in just two years, the hotel was converted into a receiving hospital for those wounded from the Civil War. In less than a year, over 23,000 sick and wounded soldiers passed through. Today, visiting this landmark, you might hear the sound of soldiers is despair whose spirits have never left.

The beautiful Assateague Lighthouse, located on Virginia's Eastern Shore, is a famous landmark for anyone passing through the area.
