The aptly-named Emerald Pond near New Market boasts clear and unbelievably refreshing water. You may just have to experience it for yourself.

Bird Knob Trail is a gorgeous trek through the George Washington National Forest that offers hikers an immersive experience in the wilderness rewarded by an unbelievable swimming hole.
