So without further ado, here’s more on the area that has recently been put on the map.
If you haven't heard of the region of Dranesville, you aren't alone. This conglomerate of suburbs which includes McLean and Herndon often flies under the radar when compared to Washington D.C.
Yet Dranesville enjoys all the resources of Washington D.C. while enjoying the lifestyle of life in Fairfax County, Virginia. For many folks, it's the best of both worlds.
Dranesville is named for Washington Drane, a man who moved to the area from D.C. in 1810 and established the Dranesville Tavern, which still stands today.
Today, Dranesville has been listed among the best places in the U.S. to live for many reasons. Its location along the Potomac River means that outdoor adventures are never far away, yet it's also incredibly close to the nation's capital, where many Dranesville residents happen to work.
