It’s a beautiful thing when all of our favorite summer activities can be experienced in one place. If you’re a fan of gorgeous mountain sceneries, fantastic local beer, and sleeping under the stars, then we’ve got the perfect weekend destination for you: Devil’s Backbone Brewery. Tucked away at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this fantastic location is the crown jewel of Nelson County in the outdoor activities department. Here’s more on why this brewery campground is sure to become your new favorite weekend destination.
Just five miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway awaits a beloved local Virginia brewery by the name of Devils Backbone. The name is a nod to the early Virginia explorers who nicknamed the mountain range Devils Backbone due to the fact that it was difficult to summit.
Devils Backbone incorporates time-tested traditions from Germany, Belgium, and England into their brewing process. On tap, you'll find core brews, seasonal, and specialties. With 48 drafts to choose from, there's a little something for everyone.
This pilot location in Roseland, Virginia is particularly family-friendly, so a love of beer isn't required. Throughout the year, the brewery hosts food festivals and events suitable for all ages.
If you're stopping by during the day, don't forget to order something delicious from the outdoor fast-casual restaurant. It's here you can find wings, German pretzels, and even fish and chips.
One of the newest additions to the brewery is the wooded campground with 71 campsites to choose from. There are standard full hookups, standard non-electric, and tent-only non-electric sites to choose from.
